The Proposed Diversion of Footpaths Purton 53, 55 and 56
Wiltshire Council are in receipt of an application, dated 16 July 2025, to divert Purton 53 (PURT53),55 (PURT55) and56 (PURT56) , under Section 257 of the Town and Country Planning Act 1990 to facilitate planning application PL/2021/06918 granted on 20 November 2024.
The site location is land at Widham Farm, Purton. The development is the erection of 61 dwellings, access and open space following the demolition of two dwellings and Outline permission for 0.72ha of employment land for Use Class E .
The proposal is to divert PURT53 as shown on the attached plan from the route shown with a bold continuous line from points A-B, approximately134 metres in length, to new route shown with a bold dashed line from points A-B, approximately 150 metres in length.
PURT55 is to be divert as shown on the attached plan from the route shown with a bold continuous line from points B-C, approximately 246 metres in length, to new route shown with a bold dashed line from points D-C, approximately 227 metres in length.
PURT56 as shown on the plan below from the route shown with a bold continuous line from points A-E, approximately 139 metres in length, to new route shown with a bold dashed line from points F-G, approximately 127 metres in length. The current paths are recorded at 0.9 metres and have a grass surface; the proposed diversion paths will have a recorded width of 2 metres with an all-weather hogging/tarmac surface with no additional furniture required.
