The Council are inviting the public, local children from St Mary’s School and Wicksteed, the contractors, to join the opening event at 11am on Thursday 26 June.
Wicksteed were appointed to conduct the refurbishment and replacement of equipment and surfaces within the Play Park, after a tender process following public consultation. The Park has been specifically designed for younger children up to the age of 12, and is inclusive, catering to the diverse needs of individuals, including accessible equipment. It is a space where children, both with and without disabilities, can come together to play and interact in a safe, fun environment. The Parish Council are delighted with the outcome and the efficiency of the installation.
Sue Relfe, Chair of Purton Parish Council will be overseeing the opening and says:
“We are delighted with the delivery of this new play park for all families, right in the heart of Purton. The Council made the decision to use money from our Community Infrastructure Levy(CIL) to make substantial improvements to this popular amenity. The quality of the workmanship and the efficiency of the Wicksteed team have meant we finished this project early.”
Emma Bradley, Area Sales Manager, Wicksteed is bringing refreshments and balloons for the school pupils. She comments:
“ I’m thrilled to see our latest Wicksteed installation come to life in Purton and proud, as always, to be spreading the joy of play across the Southwest. Purton is the first of three installations Wicksteed will be delivering in the Greater Swindon area this year, and I’m really looking forward to seeing the local children’s reactions at the official opening on Thursday”
