Purton Parish Council will be creating an eco-cemetery in the village, at the land previously purchased opposite the Pear Tree.

The new Cemetery will look to support the environment in a number of ways by encouraging unwrapped, natural, in season flowers; locally produced headstones; and wildflower planting.

There will also be a rose garden for the scattering of ashes and above ground spaces to treasure loved ones remains.

Plans will be further developed with funeral directors, florists, and the community, should planning permission be granted and after the Neighbourhood Plan Revision is complete.
