Events during Christian Aid Week

Christian Aid Service at St. Mary's Church on Sunday morning May 12th at 10.30am
This will be a really interesting Service as we have a speaker coming from Christian Aid to talk to us all, so we would love to have a good turn out.
Purton is often mentioned at Christian Aid HQ for the fact that the whole village is so involved in various activities during the week,
so we want to show them that we really care and really want to learn more.

 There is also Breakfast in St Mary’s Church from 9am onwards, so please do come and join us for that as well!
Porridge, bacon butties...it’s all happening!
There are so many activities going on in the village during Christian Aid Week and we would love your support.
I’ll mention a few…
The Quiz…is out there and needs to be returned to Libbie by Friday May 10.
The winner will be announced after the service on the 12^th

 We have a Cake Sale in Pips on May 18^th
We would love your support…either making cakes, buns,biscuits etc and /or buying cakes in Pips from 10.30am that day.
We would also be grateful for some help on the day.
Up the road, also on May 18^th,  Sylvia will also be having a Cake Sale AND Tombola for Christian Aid, at her house, and garage!
Please support her too…we know you will!

We are delighted that the Primary School children are getting involved in Christian Aid Week’s 70k in May sponsored event…
as are others in the village. If you would like to know more about this, or sponsor the children,  please contact Libbie.

And we are so grateful that Faith Alive Choir is coming to St Mary’s Church on Sunday May 19^th at 5pm to sing for us all.
There will be a donations basket at the end of the concert.

 We shall also be distributing the Christian Aid envelopes during the week, but there will be no need to collect them up.
People will be asked to return them to letterboxes near their homes.

 These are just a few of the events coming up.
Later, on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27^th there will be another Big Breakfast at Pips in the Silver Threads  Hall.
